North Newbald, Yorkshire.

Follow the M62 to Jct 38 and continue eastwards on the A63 for three miles to the next junction at South Cave.Turn off onto the A1034 Market Weighton road. Follow this road for three miles to North Newbald.
A short cut may used by taking the B1230 from Jct 38 through North Cave.

SURFACE/DESIGNATION

Classic skis only. The road surface is generally good, but there are some rough patches.

SAFETY DETAILS

When returning to North Newbald it may be necessary to walk downhill a little way.There are a couple of short steep drops, especially on the road between Bishop Burton and Cherry Burton.On the longer route care should be taken when crossing and recrossing the busy A1079.

FACILITIES

There is space to park in North Newbald by the village green.
Bishop Burton is one of the most picturesque villages in the Wolds with a pond, a large village green, shop and pub.
There are pubs in all the villages.

OTHER DETAILS

Route From North Newbald roller ski to the adjoining village of South Newbald and then climb a long hill onto the wolds. From here follow the narrow lane eastwards as far as Walkington. Then turn north to Bishop Burton.

From here there are two alternatives for the return journey:-

Short route 21k. From Bishop Burton, roller south a little way and return directly to North Newbald on a road parallel to the outward road.

Long route 26k.From Bishop Burton continue north through Cherry Burton and Etton and return via Gardham.
