OTHER DETAILS

Ski the recommended cycle route from Melton Ross for 7.5 miles through Burnham to the outskirts of Barton upon Humber. Apart from a dog leg at Burnham the road is virtually straight all the way.
From Barton join the B1218 for a short distance and on the outskirts of the town turn right onto Horkstow Road. The road climbs steadily to the Western edge of the Wolds above the river Ancholme. Then turn left and follow the minor road along the edge all the way back to Melton Ross, crossing the B1206 and passing under the A15 and A180.
The route can be extended by parking on the North side of the Humber bridge and roller skiing over the bridge itself in both directions. However this means coming off the bridge at the Southern end and roller skiing through the town of Barton. Main roads can be avoided by using various side streets.
