DISTANCE

24k short route. 31k long route. Start from Langtoft, 6 miles North of Driffield in East Yorkshire on the B1249. Roller ski to Kilham and then to Rudston. Return to Kilham by a different route. From here you can return directly to Langtoft or do an additional loop via Cottam.

SURFACE/DESIGNATION

Quiet minor tarmac roads. Mainly undulating with some smallish hills.

SAFETY DETAILS

If you take the Cottam route, there is a 50 yd walk alongside the main road and a steep drop into Langtoft from the West, at the end of the route.

FACILITIES

Pubs and shops in Langtoft, Kilham and Rudston. Cottam is only a farm hamlet.
Parking in Langtoft at the North end of the village, by the small village green, opposite the Ship pub, which is open all day.

OTHER DETAILS

Points of interest are:
The interesting church in Rudston. There is a prehistoric monolith in the churchyard. Roman remains have been found nearby.
Picnic spot next to the village pond in Kilham.
Possibility of seeing David Hockney. He has been found at the roadside, painting local scenes.
