The TV mast supply road, north of Horwich up to the top of Winter Hill.

Distance 2.5km, Height Gain 190m.
Private supply road for the Winter Hill TV mast; it is also a bridleway, so access is not a problem.
Reasonable surface but breaking up in places. Best suited for classic (or ‘off-road’ skate).
The return trip is not recommended because of the gradient. Occasional walkers on the road and one cattle grid.
Facilities in nearby Horwich.
Suitable for uphill training. If walking boots are taken in a sack, then a moorland walk can be an enjoyable option for coming down; there are a number of paths to select.
