Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire.
GR SJ 752 791, OS Sheet 118
Tatton park is well signposted on the approaches to Knutsford. However, the signposts lead to the main vehicle entrance. For roller skiing, it is recommended you visit the park at times when it is not open to cars. The above grid reference is for an alternative entrance to the park in Knutsford itself, where it is possible to park on the road outside.
This is an out and return route, 8km in total.
Tarmac drive through National Trust property.
There are cattle grids at the entrances to the park and one, halfway along the road. All have side paths. Traffic volumes can be high at weekends. The best time is before the park is open, that is before 10:00am in the summer, 11:00am in the winter.
Lots of teashops in Knutsford. Tatton Hall has a teashop and toilets, but if you avoid main opening hours, these will probably be closed.
Open parkland with lakes, deer and sheep.
